Valentin V. Sazykin, Director General of Syntezkauchuk association, dies at 69

Valentin Sazykin was born on January 23, 1937 in Yeysk, the Krasnodar territory. After his graduation from the Novocherkassk Polytechnical Institute in 1960, he worked at the Kuibyushev Synthetic Rubber Plant as a shift engineer, shop manager, and deputy chief engineer.

In 1978, he was appointed chief engineer of Souyzkauchuk Production Association. In 1980, he became the head of Soyuzkauchuk and a board member of the Ministry of Petrochemical Industry of the USSR.

From 1988 to 1989, V. Sazykin headed the General Technological Directorate of the Ministry of Chemical and Petrochemical Industry of the USSR. In 1990, he was elected Director General of Syntezkauchuk association.

Valentine V. Sazykin was Vice-President of the Russian Union of Chemists, a candidate of science (engineering), twice the winner of the State Prize of the USSR, an honored chemist of the Russian Federation, a corresponding member of the Russian and International Engineering Academies, the author of a number of inventions in the field of specialty rubber and raw monomers manufacturing.
