Press release: Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and TATNEFT Have Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

Nail Maganov, General Director of TATNEFT Company, and Valentin Parmon, Chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. 

According to the signed document, main efforts of the parties will be focused on the elaboration, study and development of the resource potential of crude oil production, new technologies for processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, generation of information technologies, as well as training of the highly qualified personnel.

TATNEFT and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have agreed on the establishment of a working group to coordinate cooperation, as well as contacts in the area of education and professional growth. A working meeting on the specification of priority scientific and technological subjects has been scheduled for the first half of 2019.

Nail Maganov reminded about the framework agreement concluded between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Siberian Branch of the RAS in September. “Our visit is a logical continuation of the priorities stipulated in this document,” mentioned the Company’s General Director N.U. Maganov stating “Today, we see our goal to be the acquaintance with the scientific potential of Siberia, discussion and clarification of the main areas and forms of interaction.” “Today, all production is accompanied by technological challenges”. “However, the country has a scientific base, which is a basis for Russia to create new crude oil production technologies of any complexity.”

In the framework of the plenary meeting, research institutes of Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk and Kemerovo presented 11 scientific topics and projects related to the subject matter of the TATNEFT Company’s activity. Inter alia there were topics related to prospecting and exploration of promising oil fields, enhanced oil recovery, digitalization of deposits, deep processing development of hydrocarbons and renewable raw materials.
