The following representatives from Shchekinoazot took part in the meeting: B.A. Sokol, President of the company; A.K. Surba, General Director of OJSC Shchekinoazot; A.E. Sokol, Deputy General Director of the Shchekinoazot company; A.L. Tokarev, Deputy Director for Financial Resources; S.D. Levin, Deputy Director for Technology and Implementation of the Department of Economics and Information Technologies; A.M. Zlakotin, the First Deputy Director of Legal Support.
The visit involved a trip to the company's museum, where they learned more about the history and the present-day workings of the plant.
Mr. Takeshi Hagiwara left a kind review in the museum's distinguished visitors book.
The guests also visited the company's industrial site where they were given a presentation about the future development of the plant.
Representatives of the Mitsubishi company visited Shchekinoazot's new installations, which was launched on 7 September. During the inspection, the guests were accompanied by the President of Shchekinoazot, B.A. Sokol.
They then assembled in the negotiation room to discuss prospective cooperation between the two companies.
After the the company's presentation, the President of Shchekinoazot, Boris Sokol, addressed the guests:
"I am delighted to welcome you to the Tula Region to visit Shchekinoazot!"
Shchekinoazot began to implement its large-scale development strategy in 2005.
We knew that there were two factors that cast very specific requirements on the development of our enterprise: time and economic conditions. We gradually opened new production facilities.
Subsequently, our tax liabilities and the scale of the social and charitable programmes we are involved in increased. These projects are currently being implemented in the workers’ settlement Pervomayskiy. We are in charge of the work of the Sports Centre and the Community Centre. The Charity Fund of the Topsoe, Tolstoy and Sokol Families was created to support talented children in the Shchekino district...
It has been highlighted that Shchekinoazot uses the most cutting edge and environmentally-friendly technologies.
Shchekinoazot uses technology, equipment and catalysts produced by the Danish company, Haldor Topsoe, at two facilities: the Methanol M-450 production plant (the only new methanol production plant in Russia and the most modern production plant in Europe), which has been successfully operating since 2011, and the energy-efficient V-26 hydrogen plant, launched in 2012.
In 2013, Shchekinoazot announced the implementation of a new project: the construction of methanol and ammonia production facilities with a capacity to produce 450,000 and 135,000 tonnes of the chemicals per year, respectively.
The Haldor Topsoe company acted as licensor again.
2018 has been a special and significant year for the company. The company has launched several new large-scale projects that had been in the development stage for the last several years. Methanol and ammonia production facilities were put into commercial operation. They use unique technology involving the joint production of the two chemicals at the aforementioned volumes. An import substitution project is taking off: a sulfuric acid plant and the first perfume-quality dimethyl ether plant in Russia (a joint venture with the German company PCC SE) have been commissioned.
On 7 September, new sewage treatment facilities were also officially opened. They were designed to service Shchekinoazot's current plants as well as future projects. One of them, the Methanol-500 project, was also started on 7 September.
The implementation of the Shchekinoazot Development Strategy means the company is set to become a leader on the Russian methanol market and the industrial chemistry market.
The company is planning to use modern equipment for its projects as well as the most advanced technological solutions that meet the current requirements of industrial and environmental safety. It should be noted that Shchekinoazot uses equipment produced by the Mitsubishi company. Particularly, the compressor equipment at the methanol-ammonia plant.
In his answering speech, Mr. Takeshi Hagiwara noted that he was impressed by what he had seen on the Shchekinoazot site. "Our goal is to continue our cooperation and promote the further development of our companies," he stressed.
The discussion and intention to develop the business partnership was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement. Takeshi Hagiwara and Boris Sokol signed the document.
At the end of the meeting, both sides gave commemorative souvenirs to each other as a sign of mutual respect
