Uralchem has commenced shutdown maintenance operations at its Azot subsidiary (Berezniki, Perm Region). The company will repair the key process equipment and upgrade and remodel parts of its production shops. Some RUB 2 billion will be spent on this purpose, of which RUB 660 million will go to fund the repair operations.

The operations at ammonia unit No. 1 will last for 17 days. During the same period the company intends to replace two air cooling units, which will increase product output. Other steps include the upgrade of the vacuum surface condenser, compressor, repair of steam pipelines and vessel equipment, and inspection of safety valves and isolation valves.
