Press release: Gazprom Neft’s Board of Directors reviews strategies for minimising foreign imports in procurement
The Gazprom Neft Board of Directors has reviewed information on company initiatives directed at introducing and increasing the proportion of Russian products and solutions in procurement.
Increasing the proportion of domestic products in the company’s procurement policy is a priority for Gazprom Neft — to which end the company is introducing pre-existing domestic solutions, as well as acting as a proactive stimulus in the development of new, previously unavailable products.
Domestic solutions are being successfully implemented across all key areas of Gazprom Neft’s operations, with company enterprises, already, using Russian power plants, onshore drilling rigs, and tanks and vessels for offshore projects, as well as modern tubing products, proppants, additives, refining catalysts and much more.
The programme currently being implemented by Gazprom Neft is also promoting the export potential of domestic solutions and technologies, with more than 100 Russian company partners supplying products and services to Gazprom Neft’s Serbian asset, NIS, in particular.
Implementing all of the import-substitution strategies developed by the company will lead to the development of more than 100 new high-technology products of Russian origin, to be used across all Gazprom Neft’s areas of activity, including high-tech drilling units rigs; fracking agents and equipment; generation, compression and downhole equipment; marine engineering equipment for offshore projects; and personal protective equipment.
Respective roadmaps envisage developing domestic solutions in collaboration with the Russian Federation’s leading scientific organisations, establishing consortia and raising finance, and testing and scaling-up production, followed by the subsequent integration of these new products into Gazprom Neft’s procurement system.
