Press release: GC "Titan" concluded the agreement with the Omsk and Pskov regions at SPIEF

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum – SPIEF'2018 was being held in St. Petersburg, from 24 to 26 May, under the guidance of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. During the Forum, Group of Companies "Titan", the Government of the Omsk region and the Administration of the Pskov region concluded a tripartite agreement of intent.

The document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GC "Titan" JSC Mikhail Sutyaginskiy, interim Governor of the Omsk region Alexander Burkov and interim Governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov. In accordance with this document, the parties intend to cooperate in order to implement the project on polymer production, namely, PETP pellets and BOPET films. Also the purpose of this agreement is to establish and expand the productive-economic relations between enterprises of the two regions.

"The signed agreement gives the grounding for cooperation between two federal subjects of the Russian Federation and for the future creation of an interregional cluster on the basis of Omsk petrochemical industrial cluster that will include as the participant the new enterprise of the Pskov region – "Titan-Polymer" plant", commented Mikhail Sutyaginskiy.

He noted that the advantages of the Pskov region are its favorable geographical location, developed infrastructure and the existence of a special economic zone. Omsk region, in its turn, possesses the necessary competencies in the petrochemical industry, which will make it possible to receive a premium product. "As a result of the project, the Omsk region will receive a guaranteed supplier of import-substituting products – BOPET films. This packing material will allow us to extend a storage life for food produced by the enterprises of our region, including products for export to China, the cooperation with which is currently under active development in the region", - said Mikhail Sutyaginskiy.

According to his opinion, the material can be used not only for purposes of packaging. It is also used in the production of electronics, insulating materials, medical films, etc. A variety of BOPET film applications will stimulate the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the region and increase the flow of tax deductions to the Omsk region.

The head of the Omsk region Alexander Burkov, marked the importance of cooperation between the two regions. "It is important for us to keep the cooperation ties between the enterprises of GC "Titan" and our regions: Pskov and Omsk".

Interim Governor of the Pskov region Mikhail Vedernikov, emphasized that the Omsk region is the acknowledged leader in petroleum and chemical industry. "We study this experience with a great interest and expect that such agreement will provide an additional opportunities for business in both regions", - added he.

Let us recall that on May 21, the project on production of PETP pellets and BOPET films was presented to the Supervisory Board of the special economic zone (SEZ) "Moglino" (the Pskov region) and received its support. In addition, the Pskov plant "Titan-Polymer" entered the short list of the projects of the industrial forum of the North-West Federal District "Locomotives of growth: digital economy and new production" initiated by the all-Russian political party "United Russia".

The participation program of the head of GC "Titan"Mikhail Sutyaginskiy includes business meetings with representatives of financial institutions, industrial enterprises, as well as authorities of all levels. In addition, he became the participant in the key event of the Forum - the plenary session which is traditionally held by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
