Press release: Mikhail Sutyaginskiy invited participants of the clusters of the Russian Federation to Omsk region

From April 12 to 15, XV Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum was held in Krasnoyarsk, where the head of GC "Titan", Mikhail Sutyaginskiy, took part.

During a couple of days, the participants of the Forum "Russia 2018-2024: Implementing the potential" were discussing the actual issues, specifically, priority projects for Siberian regions development.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC GC "Titan" Mikhail Sutyaginskiy and Minister of Economic Affairs of Omsk region Rasim Galyamov took part in the panel discussion "Industrial clusters and technoparks: as the locomotives of regional economic growth: Investment potential and cooperation opportunities".

The moderator was Andrey Shpilenko – Director of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks. He addressed to Mikhail Sutyaginskiy as to the industrialist and chairman of the "Business Russia" committee on the chemical industry, biotechnology and new materials with a request to evaluate clusters as a mechanism for the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

Answering the question, Sutyaginskiy noted that now some projects for small and medium-sized businesses are being developed in Omsk region on the basis of two industrial clusters - petrochemical and agro-biotechnological. "Omsk region today has an ambitious goal - to become the region No. 1 for the development of light chemistry on the basis of two clusters. The number of cluster members increases. We expect that in the near future, when we will start the production of three basic products at the industrial site of GC "Titan" - phenol, acetone and isopropyl alcohol, the quantity of members will grow significantly due to small and medium-sized businesses."

The head of the "Business Russia" committee made a special focus on the environmental component of cluster projects, the effectiveness of which is enhanced by the use of renewable raw materials and deep processing of petrochemical raw materials.

At the conclusion of the speech, Mikhail Sutyaginskiy invited representatives of Russia's clusters to hold an offsite meeting in Omsk region, including visiting the site of GC "Titan": "We have something to show, we have real projects."

The initiative on the exchange of regional practices in the area of cluster implementation was supported by Rasim Galyamov and Andrey Shpilenko.

Summary:

Agro-biotechnological and Petrochemical industrial clusters were created in the region in 2016 and such clusters were the first in the Siberian Federal District which entered the register of industrial clusters of Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
