Director General of Titan Group Mikhail Sutyaginsky is the Man of the Year in Omsk

The Omsk business magazine Business Course has called Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Director General of the Titan group of companies, the Man of the Year in Omsk. The title was awarded to Titan’s chief for the successful implementation of the Omsk biofuel complex construction project and the similar project in Kazakhstan, and also for the development of polypropylene manufacture in the Omsk region.

“To be honest, it was a complete surprise to me when I got the Man of the Year award. But I am glad that my work and Titan’s activities have been rated so highly. We intend to develop further our business, set even more ambitious goals and reach them,” Sutyaginsky said commenting on the award of the title.

As for now, the Titan group of companies is a growing petrochemical business with production facilities located in Russia (Omsk region) and Kazakhstan (North Kazakhstan region) and total investments surpassing $300 million. Titan has a $50m joint venture with the largest car-building company of the former Soviet Union, Mordovia-based OAO VKM. The joint venture, OAO Titan-VKM-Trans, is a large transportation company with over 700 tank cars. In the agroindustrial sector, Titan is represented by its business APK Titan with over $10 million in investments.

The Titan group of companies accounts for 30% of Russia’s MTBE, 25% of butadiene α-methyl styrene rubbers and 23% of phenol.

Titan has been repeatedly awarded “the best Russian exporter” premium (2003, 2005) by the Ministry of Economic Development. The company’s products have been constantly winning the top prizes at various Russian and international contests.

ZAO Titan Group of Companies is a Russian petrochemical firm and the largest Russian producer of MTBE. Titan is a general investor of the rubber producer OAO Omsky Kauchuk and an owner of ZAO Ecooil. In September 2006, the company, jointly with TOO Basko, opened the first CIS bioethanol complex, Biokhim, in Kazakhstan. In November 2006, Titan started construction on the first Russian bioethanol plant in the Omsk region. The company was founded in 1989 in Omsk.
