Titan Group becomes the first in Western Siberia to obtain three ISO management system certificates

ISO management system certificates were awarded to the Titan group of companies at an official ceremony that was held on December 25, 2006. The certification audit conducted by international certification body Bureau Veritas had confirmed the compliance of Titan’s integrated management system with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standards, ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standards, and OHSAS 18001:1999 occupational health and safety management system standards.

The ceremony was attended by sales and marketing director of ZAO Bureau Veritas Certification A.V. Pikulin, Minister of petrochemical industry of the Omsk region A.F. Trippel, President of the chamber of commerce and industry of the Omsk region T.A. Khoroshavina, Chairman of the association of petrochemical companies A.P. Pokoev, bankers, and Titan's partners. Also invited to the ceremony were heads of business units and the employees who were engaged in the creation of Titan Group's management system. Presenting the certificates to Director General of Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Alexey Pikulin pointed out that the Titan group was the first in Siberia to successfully introduce the management system in three fields and at three companies simultaneously.

"Today, the creation of an effective management system is a vital necessity which defines the category of an enterprise. We see that the company is developing quickly and has bright prospects ahead," Alexander Trippel said. In her speech, Tatyana Khoroshavina congratulated Titan’s executives and employees on the ISO certificates awarded by one of the leading international certification agencies. She emphasized that the effective functioning of the management system would enable the company to strengthen its positions in the petrochemical market of Russia and abroad. "These certificates that prove the conformity of our management system to international standards are the result of efforts exerted by all company employees. It is a reference point for our future work aimed at streamlining the system, increasing its efficiency in the field of quality, ecology, industrial and labor safety. While developing the business, we must focus on latest technologies not only in manufacture, but in management too. It will enable us to compete even more effectively in the market, and will make us more attractive for potential partners and investors," Mikhail Sutyaginsky, Director General of Titan, said. The decision to introduce an ISO management system at Titan Group, Omsky Kauchuk and Ecooil was made in December 2005. This strategy is designed to increase the company’s enterprises competitiveness, improve financial results, enhance the responsibility for product and service quality, environmental and industrial safety, and to create safe working conditions for employees.

ZAO Titan Group of Companies is a Russian petrochemical firm and the largest Russian producer of MTBE. Titan is a general investor of the rubber producer OAO Omsky Kauchuk and an owner of ZAO Ecooil. In September 2006, the company, jointly with TOO Basko, opened the first CIS bioethanol complex, Biokhim, in Kazakhstan. In November 2006, Titan started construction on the first Russian bioethanol plant in the Omsk region. The company was founded in 1989 in Omsk.
