Titan Group took part in Russian National Exhibition in Beijing

Press release 27 November 2006, Omsk Titan Group took part in the Russian national exhibition entitled “Russia and China: New Ways of Trade and Economic Cooperation in the 21st Century” which was held from 8–13 November 2006 at the China International Trade Center in Beijing. During the event, Titan’s delegates met with a number of Chinese partners — mainly with heads of firms that have long-term relations with Titan. The Chinese partners confirmed their interest in further developing collaboration with the Russian company. At the same time, preliminary negotiations were held on Titan’s supplies to its new Chinese consumers.

Over 700 Russian delegates, including representatives of the largest Russian producers, scientific and R&D institutions from 45 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the event. The mission of the exhibition was to promote Russian exports to China and facilitate development of trade and economic relations and investment collaboration between Russia and China. The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Russian Government Mikhail Fradkov, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Russian minister of economic development and trade German Gref, and China’s minister of commerce Bo Xilai.

ZAO Titan Group of Companies is a Russian petrochemical firm and the largest Russian producer of MTBE. Titan is a general investor of the rubber producer OAO Omsky Kauchuk and an owner of ZAO Ecooil. In September 2006, the company, jointly with TOO Basko, opened the first CIS bioethanol complex, Biokhim, in Kazakhstan. In November 2006, Titan started construction on the first Russian bioethanol plant in the Omsk region. The company was founded in 1989 in Omsk.
