Titan Group passes ISO audit

Titan Group of Companies has passed an ISO audit. The 4-day test was organized to determine if the group’s management systems met the required criteria for being certified to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standards, ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standards, and OHSAS 18001 specifications. The audit confirmed the compliance of the corresponding systems of Titan Group with the requirements needed to obtain the certificates.

Under the terms of a special agreement, the audit was conducted by independent organization ZAO Bureau Veritas Certification, which is one of the leading international certification bodies. The group of auditors included eight highly qualified specialists from Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhnevartovsk, and Chelyabinsk. The conformity with the certificates was studied through interviews with managers and employees. The group’s project documentation has been analyzed, manufacturing processes have been tested.

As a result of the audit, the management system of ZAO Titan Group of Companies, OAO Omsky Kauchuk and ZAO Ecooil has been proved to be designed, documented, introduced, operated, and upgraded in compliance with the audit criteria. There were several strong points of the company’s management mentioned in the course of the test, including the company leaders’ high responsibility for the maintenance and development of the management system, competence and professionalism of managers and employees in the field of performance of the management system, the process approach to the environmental, health and safety management, etc.

The decision to introduce an ISO management system at Titan Group, Omsky Kauchuk and Ecooil was made in December 2005.

ZAO Titan Group of Companies is a Russian petrochemical firm and the largest Russian producer of MTBE. Titan is a general investor of the rubber producer OAO Omsky Kauchuk and an owner of ZAO Ecooil. In September 2006, the company, jointly with TOO Basko, opened the first CIS bioethanol complex, Biokhim, in Kazakhstan. The group is also building a PP integrated plant and is getting ready to open a new biocomplex in the Omsk region, Western Siberia.
