Titan Group participates in charity program commemorating Fyodor Golovin

The Titan group of companies has joined the first stage of the charity program commemorating Fyodor Golovin. Festivities dedicated to the anniversary of the creation of regular Russian Navy and navigation school established by Count Golovin were held October 28 in St. Petersburg. The event was a part of the program titled "In Service of the Country: Events and Names" undertaken by the Center of National Glory.
As a partner of the Center of National Glory, Titan Group was awarded a gold medal featuring F. A. Golovin's image, a Certificate of Merit and a Memorial Diploma. A participant of the charity program, Titan Group financially supports the construction of F.A.Golovin's monument at the Ordensky Andreevsky cathedral. Earlier, the group also took part in another stage of the program "In Service of the Country: Events and Names" dedicated to Baron Stieglitz.
The festivities commemorating F.A.Golovin in St. Petersburg started with a meeting of the Guardian Board of the program "In Service of the Country: Events and Names" held in the Higher Naval School "Corps of Peter the Great". The meeting was presided by the Chairman of the Guardian Board of the Center of National Glory and the Fund of St. Andrew the First Called V. I. Yakunin, Minister of Culture and Public Communications of the Russian Federation A. S. Sokolov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the RF Navy F.S. Smuglin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A. V. Saltanov. The event was attended by St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko.

F.A. Golovin (1650–1706), one of the closest associates of Peter the Great, served as State Chancellor; General-Field Marshal; General-Admiral; President of Ambassadorial Affairs; Head of Naval Department; Head of Weapons, Gold, and Silver Chambers; Governor of Siberia; Administrator of Malorossiya; Administrator of the Mint. His activities were very wide and diverse in the times of reforms of Peter the Great. It was F. A. Golovin who did all fundamental organizational work to establish the Great Embassy of Russia in Western Europe. He was the founder and the first principal of the School of Mathematical and Navigation Science (the first educational establishment in Russia for training technical specialists; presently known as Corps of Peter the Great or St. Petersburg Naval Institute), Commander-in-Chief of the first Russian fleet (the Azov fleet), the first Chief of the Naval Department, and the founder of Russian cryptographic service. During his chancellorship, a system of permanent Russian missions abroad was created. F.A.Golovin participated in the creation and editing of the first Russian printed newspaper "Vedomosti".
