Press release: TATNEFT Joined the Top-10 Most Expensive Brands in Russia

The brand of TATNEFT Company took the 10th place in the rating of the most expensive brands in Russia according to the version of Brand Finance. 

The cost of the TATNEFT’s brand in 2017 is estimated at RUB 89 billion. The brand strength rating of the Company is designated as "very strong" (AA).

The rating includes 50 most expensive brands in Russia. The rating has been headed by the Sberbank brand (RUB 569 billion), followed by Gazprom and Lukoil (RUB 305 billion and RUB 283 billion, respectively). Rosneft is on the fourth place with the cost RUB 180 billion. The brands of "Magnit", "Surgutneftegaz", RZD, VTB and MTS were  also included in the Top-10.

The brands’ evaluation has been performed by the Brand Finance international consulting company, which is the world leader in the valuation of brands.

The Brand Finance uses a profit approach to valuation of brands, applying the royalty exemption method. Such a methodology is based on the assumption that if a company does not own a brand, then it would have to acquire the right (license) for this by paying an amount corresponding to the value of the valuation.
