Interplastica 2017 expo to open on January 24

Еhe international exhibition of plastics and rubber Interplastica 2017 will take place from January 24 to January 27 at CEC Expocentre, Krasnaya Presnya, Moscow.

The exhibition will retain its traditional German Pavilion. A significant portion of the exhibition area will be occupied also by companies from Italy, Austria, France and China. Iranian companies will also be present: they first took part in the event three years ago.

As for the key topics, this year's Interplastica will be dedicated to 3D technologies: a new show project titled 3D fab + print Russia will be presented during the event. Traditional methods of plastic processing, such as casting and extrusion, are supplemented by a new tool. 3D printing is no longer a "toy" for designers: it transforms into a high-demand technology that operats on an industrial scale. Additive technologies permit the combination of serial large-scale production with individual item design.

As for Russia's plastic industry, it has been faring well last year: according to Rosstat, in the thirst 11 months of the year the index reflecting the output of key chemicals grew by 3.5% y/y. Production of plastic items in Russia grew by 7.1% in the same period. Pipe production increased by 7.1%, production of films, 4.4%, manufacture of plastic sheeting, by 11.3%. These optimistic figures allow the country's polymer industry to feature as one of the most promising areas of the Russian economy.

The Upakovka exhibition dedicated to the use of polymers in packaging, this year will take place simultaneously with Interplastica, in the Expocentre's Forum Pavilion.
