Press release: Delegation from Turkmenistan Visited TATNEFT
A delegation of the Republic of Turkmenistan headed by Maksat Babayev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, visited production facilities of TATNEFT in Nizhnekamsk and Almetyevsk within the framework of a two-day visit to Tatarstan.
The delegation included managers and professionals of large state concerns and corporations of Turkmenistan, including Turkmenneft, Turkmengaz, Turkmengeologia, as well as representatives of the Turkmenbashi oil refinery.
The guests met with the management of TATNEFT and Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT, during the visit. Turkmenistan Representatives were able to esteem the implementation of such Company’s business areas as oil refining, tire production, energy generation; they got familiarized with the practice of TATNEFT's activities in the field of personnel training, logistic and maintenance support, as well as innovative technologies application experience in the areas of oil fields development, drilling and well workover.
Within the framework of visiting the Company’s Nizhnekamsk business sector the representatives of Turkmenistan were acquainted with the activities of the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex, the history and prospects of projects’ implementation, as well as the products manufactured. As of today, the refinery is working with record beating indicators on the depth of processing, the output of light oil products and the loading of primary oil processing facilities.
This was not the first visit of Turkmen partners to TANECO. The interest in this strategic project of TATNEFT is due to the fact that the oil and gas sector in Turkmenistan is one of the leading economy sectors of the Republic. The country is one of the world's largest energy powers and is actively developing hydrocarbon processing.
During the visit to Nizhnekamsk CHP, the delegations was informed about the CHP plant modernization financed by TATNEFT Company. The performed works allowed increasing the installed electric power of the CHP from 380 to 730 megawatts. Today, the Nizhnekamsk power men are directly involved in the second stage of modernization, related with a partial transition of the station to coke.
Also during the visit to Nizhnekamsk, the Turkmen delegation visited the TATNEFT tire-manufacturing complex, where the guests from Turkmenistan were told about the advantages of the SSC design tires.
The second day was devoted to familiarizing with the TATNEFT’s experience in the field of personnel training, logistics, and the application of innovative technologies in the oil field development, drilling and well workover. The Turkmen delegation visited the Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute (AGNI) and the PJSC TATNEFT’s Training Center, which takes care of training and skills improving of the workers and professionals in the oil producing and processing industries.
During the visit, great attention was paid to innovative technologies of TATNEFT. No business process is implemented at the Company without application of IT technologies today. Digitalization is the key driver of the Company's growth. The event participants got acquainted with the activities of the Geology and Technology Center and the ARMITS software complex of NGDU Almetyevneft, the Modeling Center of the TATNEFT Company’s Engineering Center. The Turkmen delegation visited the Drilling Management Center, the Center for the downhole troubles elimination, familiarized with technologies and equipment for working over sticky wells and zonal stimulation, visited a number of production facilities of the Almetyevneft and Elkhovneft oil and gas production divisions.
TATNEFT has set a course for a digital transformation of the Company’s production system in 2014. As part of the management and organizational strategy, the Company launched innovative processes all the way around the Company's range of activities including production, refining, petrochemistry, etc., they put into operation centers of simulation, drilling and digitizing the fields operation.
TATNEFT plans using the huge potential of innovative technologies and digital solutions later in the production of hi-viscosity oil, the development of promising oil resources in shale reservoirs, as well as in the further extension of the TANECO project.
At the end of the visit, the Turkmen side expressed an opinion on the possible closer cooperation between Turkmenistan and the TATNEFT Company.
