Press release: Acron Boosts Social and Economic Support for its Footprint Regions by 80%

In 2016, Acron Group increased its funding for social and economic support programmes in its footprint regions to RUB 309 million, from RUB 173 million in 2015.
 
In 2016, Acron (Veliky Novgorod) allocated RUB 104 million to provide financial support to educational establishments, NGOs, religious organisations and charity foundations, including RUB 26.9 million in Novgorod region. For many years, Acron has participated in the Christmas Gift marathon to help families with children who find themselves in a difficult financial situation. In 2016, Acron invested RUB 1.5 million in the marathon.
 
Dorogobuzh (Smolensk region) supported a number of infrastructure projects, including repairs to playgrounds and buildings housing educational and healthcare institutions, improvements to educational equipment at Verkhnedneprovsky Engineering College, and support for local NGOs. Dorogobuzh’s contributions to charitable events totalled RUB 78.8 mn.
 
In 2016, North-Western Phosphorous Company (Murmansk region) entered into a partnership agreement to support social and economic development in Kirovsk and gave the city RUB 105 million to promote social programmes, education, culture, sports and business in Kirovsk and the surrounding area. NWPC also arranged a number of major athletic events, including a hockey tournament, a municipal athletics tournament, an alpine skiing competition and a paintball tournament.
 
Verkhnekamsk Potash Company (Perm Krai) made a donation to the Berezniki administration to hold the City Day celebration and to participate in a national campaign called Days of Protection against Environmental Hazards. VPC also purchased playground equipment for the communities of Zheleznodorozhny and Usolye, upgraded a garden square, and allocated funds to provide financial aid to low-income families and children’s performing art groups. VPC also maintains a public road and allocated funds to repair the asphalt on the access road connecting Zheleznodorozhny with the regional highway Kungur — Solikamsk.
