Press release: ‘Russia-Zimbabwe’ business forum opens in Moscow

Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of the Russia-Zimbabwe Business Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC URALCHEM and Deputy Chairman of the Board of PJSC Uralkali, will take part in the ‘Russia-Zimbabwe’ Business Forum to be held on 16 January by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Russian Federation. 

The event is as part of the official state visit of the Republic of Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa to Russia. The business forum is going to be opened with his speech. 

The meeting will also attend Dmitry Kobylkin, Chairman of Russia-Zimbabwe intergovernmental commission for economic, trading, scientific and technical cooperation, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the Business Council for Cooperation with the Republic of Zimbabwe, diplomatic corps representatives, relevant ministries and departments, heads of large companies. 

The Zimbabwean delegation is going to present the republic’s investment potential for Russian businesses. In turn, Russian party will demonstrate the capacities of leading domestic companies regarding implementation of joint projects in various industries of the Republic of Zimbabwe. 

In 2018, Dmitry Mazepin repeatedly met with Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa and discussed a number of key issues. They touched upon the development of agricultural projects in Zimbabwe, the supply of petroleum products, the extraction of minerals, URALCHEM’s participation in the privatisation of Zimbabwe's largest producer of phosphate fertilisers, Chemplex, and creating Russian logistic hub in the republic for direct supplies of mineral fertilisers to South-East Africa.
