Press release: Participants of the International Conference at TANECO
Participants of the international conference "Argus Tatarstan 2018. Oil refining, trading, logistics" visited the TANECO Oil Refining Complex of TATNEFT Company on March 21.
The conference delegates got acquainted with the development of production, the development concept of advanced oil refining and the integrated approach to environmental protection. The key facilities for primary and in-depth oil refining, as well as waste treatment facilities were demonstrate to the event participants.
The TANECO complex continues maintaining the industry leadership in the depth of crude oil processing at the level of 99.2 percent in Russia at present. There are about 20 kinds of high-quality and popular products in the TANECO yielded basket of products as of now: the Euro-5 diesel fuel, which is the best in Russia by the cetane number; aviation kerosene of brands RT, TS-1, Jet A-1, base oils of Groups II and III, etc.
The participants of the conference were acquainted with the approach to solving the import substitution challenge at the TANECO complex. The particular interest has been provoked by the construction of an experimental 50 thousand tonnes per year capacity industrial hydroconversion unit designed to solve the most urgent problem for Russian oil refining, which is the qualified processing of tars with the maximum yield of light oil products. TATNEFT Company initiated the introduction of the advanced promising technology of hydroconversion of heavy oil residues developed at the Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the aim of obtaining high-quality fuels, oils and raw materials for petrochemical processes. An illustrative example in the area of import substitution of petroleum products are the base oils of Groups II and III, which are used for the production of semi-synthetic oils under the TATNEFT brand, and are also supplied both to Russian regions and for export. Thanks to the high quality, they are able to compete both in the domestic and foreign markets.
TATNEFT is systematically implementing the program of increasing the TANECO Complex performance efficiency. In 2018, the development of the development of the Oil refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex is connected with the commissioning of isomerization and reforming facilities, which will allow starting the production of premium-grade motor gasoline brands corresponding to the Euro-5standard. The planned commissioning of ELOU-AVT-6 will increase the capacity of the Complex to 14 million tonnes and turn half of the oil produced in the region into liquid products for Russia.
The conference participants will continue their work in Kazan on March 22 - 23, where they will get acquainted with new projects, discuss the current state and prospects for the development of the world and Russian oil refining, as well as opportunities for cooperation with leading domestic and foreign companies in the area of oil refining.
