Press release: First SIBUR Client Forum

On 20 April Moscow hosted Forum For the Future, SIBUR's first-ever client forum. The event attracted more than 190 major customers from Russia, CIS, Austria, Germany, India, China and other countries. It also featured SIBUR's leadership and the company's product managers. The forum's agenda aims to create a platform for the Company and its customers to discuss current developments of the petrochemical industry, customers’ needs and SIBUR's initiatives towards customer-centric service.

The event featured a keynote presentation by Dmitry Konov, Chairman of SIBUR’s Management Board, who shared his views on megatrends affecting the petrochemical industry as well as the outlook for the Company's business. Growing population, expanding global trade, redefined resource balance, as well as developing technologies have made a strong impact on petrochemistry: over the last 40 years plastics production increased eight times, which translates into four times the growth pace of conventional materials. Synthetic materials are now used in all primary industries, which enables the chemicals sector to outpace the global GDP.  This trend becomes particularly visible in Russia thanks to active import substitution of petrochemical products in construction, utilities, automotive and other business segments.

The guest speaker was Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia. He elaborated on the focus of attention of companies that lead and key success drivers to foster sustainable development of the business in the fast-changing world. Novel technologies, such as Big Data and machine learning demand a tilt to the conventional business models, which results in about 40% or leading businesses superseded with new players. Only customer-centric companies are capable of adapting to the changing needs of their customers by boosting their grasp of new technologies.

Further, SIBUR's managers took customers’ questions on pricing of certain products, sales targets and investment plans.

SIBUR's customer portfolio is comprised of over 1,400 major customers engaged in the energy, automotive, construction, consumer goods, chemical and other industries in approximately 75 countries worldwide. The Company targets a continuous improvement of its customer focus through seeking feedback from its customers in order to understand and forecast their needs with the idea to launch specific instruments that would improve customer service. SIBUR is committed to developing dialogue with its customers, and to that end produces SIBUR to Clients publication, which serves as a platform to disclose initiatives aimed at improving the quality of our products and services.
