Press release: Annual Results of the Tatneft's Environmental Activities

In 2016, the professionals of TATNEFT Company continued the work to improve the environmental safety of the oil field facilities.

By the end of 2016, PJSC TATNEFT produced more than 600 km of sour service pipes. Cathodic protection was installed at 568 wells and electrochemical protection was provided for 496 km of pipelines. More than 5,371 tonnes of highly efficient corrosion inhibitors were used to provide for protection of the oilfield equipment and pipelines against internal corrosion.

Particular attention was traditionally paid to monitoring the environmental conditions in the Company’s operations area, preventing and reducing the negative environmental impact of crude oil production on all the ecosystem components. The efforts applied to protect the water bodies ensured stable maintenance of the performance benchmarks within the established standards.

The chemical and analytical laboratory of "UPTZH dlya PPD" (Reservoir Pressure Maintenance Division) performed 10,672 analyses of water samples from the surface and underground water bodies in 2016.

The atmospheric air control at the settlements located in the area of the PJSC TATNEFT’s activities was carried out in accordance with the approved schedule. 15,389 air samples were analyzed during 2016.

The Integrated Health, Safety and Environment Management System (IMS) of PJSC TATNEFT successfully passed the surveillance audit for compliance with the international standards ISO 14001: 2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007.

The achievements of TATNEFT to ensure environmental safety at crude oil production facilities in 2016 were distinguished by awards of federal and republican contests.
