Press release: NWPC Purchases Equipment for Underground Mine

NWPC (a member of Acron Group) is purchasing main and auxiliary equipment for construction of the second stage of the Oleniy Ruchey mining and processing complex.

NWPC signed a contract with Atlas Copco to purchase state-of-the-art mining equipment for underground operations. Several 50-tonne Minetruck MR5020 underground trucks have already arrived at the mine site. Along with excellent performance, these vehicles feature high power-to-weight ratio, which provides speed on grades. NWPC is the second company in Russia (after Uchalinsky mine in Bashkortostan) to operate these powerful mine trucks.

The Company is also upgrading its fleet with a time-tested and reliable 14-tonne Scooptram ST14 underground loader. Similar equipment delivered to the site earlier has proven to be highly efficient in excavating and is popular with miners.

In addition, NWPC purchased a new Simba M6C production drilling rig to drill holes for loading explosives and blasting for ore breaking. This machine is also designed for use in raise drilling with sectional blasting.

The Oleniy Ruchey underground mine is scheduled to launch production in 2017. Total production capacity will reach 6 mtpa of ore by 2023.
