Press release: TATNEFT Will Sponsor the World Championship in Composites

TATNEFT Company will sponsor the Composite Battle World Championship among young professionals of enterprises and university students, which will be held in Kazan from October 26 to 29.

The organizers of the Championship are the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Moscow State University n.a. N.V. Lomonosov, MGTU (Moscow State Technical University) n.a. N.E. Bauman and KNITU-KAI.

The Championship’s objective is to popularize the composite industry among young professionals and university students

HR policy pursued by the management of TATNEFT allows unleashing the creative potential of talented young people and providing for high skills of its employees. The Company’s sponsorship of such events is aimed at attracting young people’s interest in engineering professions, increasing the prestige of vocational education and expanding the competence of young professionals.

The competition is planned in two stages: the finalists of Russian teams, who win the federal stage, will take part in the international stage.

The federal stage will be on the World Skills Standards basis, where the teams will design and fabricate a competitive product made of composite materials in accordance with issued design criteria. Aerospace Cup theme of the Championship is timed to the 55th anniversary of the first manned flight into space. This year, the participants of the championship will be prompted to create the hatch of the helicopter engine hood. They will have at their disposal, construction and auxiliary materials, technological devices and equipment.

In the international stage of the contest will bring together teams from Russia and the countries of near and far abroad, who will be invited to design a composite shell of a quadrocopter. The main program of this competition stage will include the intellectual "Brain Ring" game, technology contest, design strength calculation and business cases.

Additional program of activities will include checking the teams’ home assignments, master classes by composites’ leading experts and the competition of innovative creativity of schoolchildren “Junior Composite Battle”. Also as part of the extra program there will be the International Conference "Transfer of aerospace technologies in key sectors of the economy" and International exhibition of achievements of the composites’ industry held on-site of the “Composite Battle World Cup Kazan 2016 ".

The federal stage of the Championship will be held at the sports complex "KAI-Olymp", which host a thousands of people. The international stage of the competition will be held at the "Ak Bars" single combats Palace with the maximum accommodating capacity of two thousand four hundred persons.
