Environmental protection is one of the main priorities of the TANECO project implementation and TATNEFT Company’s policy as a whole. Such a conclusion was made by the members of the City Council, teachers, doctors, representatives of the local veterans' organization, who had visited the Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex.

The visit of the Nizhnekamsk public representatives to TANECO began with touring the territory of the refinery complex, which included visits to the modern biological sewage treatment facilities, delayed coking unit and   central control room.

The professionals of the Complex briefed the event participants with the activities of TATNEFT Company, exercising projects in the area of crude oil production and refining and implementing the best international standards in the field of environmental protection. They apply innovative technologies and modern equipment at the TANECO, which allow minimizing an adverse impact of manufacturing processes on the environment and using natural resources efficiently.

The environmental program of the Company covers technical, technological, organizational and economic activities carried out at the Complex in order to protect air, water and soil. Directly at the site the guests were able to appraise the environmental performance of TANECO, obtain necessary information and ask questions of their concern.

The discussion of the Complex’s prospects of development, as well as the continued implementation of the environmental policy was continued at the office of JSC TANECO. "We receive Nizhnekamsk citizens’ delegations in the Company on a regular basis. Such meetings help showing the critical changes that have occurred at the refinery complex and discarding a lot of prejudice accumulated by the residents," said Leonid Alekhin, General Director of TANECO.

After the meeting there was a survey carried out as a result of which there will be work done to develop a dialogue with the public concerning the TANECO Complex and   other projects of TATNEFT Company. TATNEFT Company plans to organize these kinds of events for different groups of the population in the future.
