Belarus potash fertilizer exports down 22% in H1

In H1 2016, Belarus exported 2 310.7 thousand tonnes of potassium fertilizer (in terms of pure nutrient content), which marks a y/y decline of 22.1%. The data appears in materials published by the National Statistics Committee (Belstat).

In the Jan-Jun period, the bulk of potassium chloride exports went to far-abroad counties, which received a total of 2 263 thousand tonnes (a decline of 23.1%). Deliveries to CIS countries grew by 90% to 47.7 thousand tonnes. In January to June, the average contract price for exported potassium chloride was $388 per tonne, which is 20.8% less than in the same period of 2015.

Belarus also exported a total of 107.6 thousand tonnes of nitrogen fertilizer over H1 2016 (marking a y/y decline of 25.6%). Deliveries to CIS countries grew by 17.2% to 15.7 thousand tonnes, while deliveries to far-abroad countries decreased by 29.9% to 91.9 thousand tonnes. The average contract price for a tonne of nitrogen fertilizer equaled $487, or 22.7% less than in Jan-Jun 2015.
