Press-release: Alexey Miller and Vladimir Semashko discuss ongoing cooperation in gas sector

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, took place at the Gazprom headquarters today.

The parties discussed ongoing cooperation in the gas sector. It was noted that Gazprom provided Belarus with reliable gas supplies, delivering the required amounts of gas to Belarusian consumers. From January through July 2016, the Company supplied 10.3 billion cubic meters of gas to the Republic.

Gazprom ensures an uninterrupted transit of Russian gas across Belarus. Over the past seven months of 2016, a total of 24.2 billion cubic meters of gas was transmitted to consumers in the CIS, Europe, and the Kaliningrad Region.

The Company continues to actively prepare the Belarusian gas transmission system for operation in the upcoming autumn/winter period. Among other things, gas injection into underground gas storage facilities is proceeding according to schedule.

Background

Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom, ensures the reliable operation of the gas transmission system (GTS) in the Republic of Belarus. The GTS comprises over 7.9 thousand kilometers of gas mains and gas branches, 13 compressor stations, 227 gas distribution stations, and 3 underground gas storage facilities: Mozyrskoye, Osipovichskoye, and Pribugskoye.

In 2014–2015, Gazprom Transgaz Belarus took part in the Early Detection of Hearing Impairment in Children national health care program. Since 2015, the company has participated in the Improved Medical Care for Children with Cancer and Help to Children with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis programs.

In 2016, as part of the Gazprom for Children in Belarus program, an education and sports complex opened at the branch of the Gomel State School of Olympic Reserve in Mozyr and the Olimpiets sports complex opened in Orsha. The construction of a sports center in Osipovichi will be completed in the near term.
