Press release: TATNEFT Plans Building a Station for Active Degasification of the Landfill Site in Tatarstan

TATNEFT" is developing a technology for active degasification of the landfill site and generation of electricity from the landfill gas.

TATNEFT Company has launched a project with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan to erect an active landfill degassing plant intended to generate electricity using the landfill gas as fuel.

The project will be of a socio-economic nature and will allow using the landfill gas as an alternative source of electricity. A decision on the location of the power plant at a particular landfill and the choice of the facility will be made after assessing the volumes, quality and composition of the landfill gas.

At present, the Company is elaborating a basic project, which will be the basis for developing an individual for the construction of a landfill gas gathering system with an power center.

The construction of such a power plant is the safest and most environmentally friendly way to utilize the  landfill gas.
