Press release: Amur GPP to be supplied with heavy equipment from summer 2018

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Aldo Belloni, Chief Executive Officer of Linde, took place in Moscow today.

The parties addressed the ongoing cooperation, placing an emphasis on the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) construction project involving Linde. It was noted that the project’s main phase was progressing on schedule. Specifically, supply and assembly of Linde’s equipment is underway for cryogenic gas separation facilities of the GPP’s first production lines. Heavy parts of those facilities will be shipped via the Zeya River starting this summer.

Background

Linde AG is one of the world’s largest companies focused on industrial technologies for natural gas treatment and separation with the recovery of ethane, propane and heavier hydrocarbon fractions. In addition, the company designs and builds cryogenic facilities for natural gas and helium liquefaction.

Gazprom’s Amur GPP will be the largest gas processing plant in Russia and one of the biggest in the world. It will have a design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will have six production lines, with the first two lines slated for commissioning in 2021. In addition to natural gas, the GPP will produce ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction, and helium.

Linde supplies the Amur GPP with the core process equipment for cryogenic recovery of helium and valuable petrochemical substances from gas.
